New York City’s Best Pork Rolls

The Bogan is a demon for meat, subsequently we’ve sampled plenty of BBQ and pulled pork rolls throughout Manhattan! This is a list of our top three, with the first two mentions being tied for gold.

Pit Master BBQ – This transportable southern BBQ trailer started servicing New York this year and jumps around to different street fairs and private events. Check out their events tab to see where they’ll be next and then let your nose guide you to them, they’re the blokes with the massive smoking grill and homemade BBQ sauce. Be warned, though, they sell out!

Mooncake Foods – The pulled pork, served on a semolina roll with napa cabbage slaw and curry lime BBQ sauce is something to marvel at. It’s a fun asian twist on the classic, but OMG is it good!

Porchetta – Already much talked about, Porchetta has a loyal following of not just East Villagers, but Manhattanites. Porchetta doesn’t actually serve pulled pork rolls, their speciality is roast pork which is seasoned in aromatic herbs and spices, garlic, sage, rosemary and wild fennel pollen. Similarly, instead of being from the south, this delicacy finds its roots in the north – a traditional street food of Central Italy. The Porchetta Pork Sandwich is roast pork, including crunchy pieces of crackling, served in a crispy ciabatta roll.
